Dr Gunaseelan Rajan has taken over as President, Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Dr Gunaseelan Rajan has taken over as President, Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in the recently held conference in Seoul, Korea. He will hold this position for a period of 2 years. He is the first person from South India to hold this prestigious office. The AAOMS is the largest professional body of max surgeons in Asia who deal with surgery of the face, mouth and jaws including facial deformities, facial fractures, mouth cancer and dental implants.
The organisation has its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

As President, He will be focussing on oral cancer – awareness spreading in the public, early detection, effective treatment.
The annual conference will be in Chennai in 2 years time, this will also help drive more attention towards India for medical tourism as well as development and research in South India.
